“BLESSED IS THE NATION…”

The Psalmist declared,
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD.” (Ps. 33:12)

As a nation, we have so much to be thankful for! We can see God’s hand of blessing upon our nation in many ways. We had a great beginning. Today we still reap the benefits of the blessing of a Godly heritage as a nation.

The following are just a few quotes from some of our founding fathers regarding their relationship to God, their dependence upon Him, and their trust in Him. You don’t hear too many of our national leaders making these kinds of statements today. You do not hear the name of God mentioned boldly in public without some sort of consequence…. until recently when number 47, President Donald Trump, boldly declared that our nation needed God. As a nation on the world stage the Christian faith isn’t’ very respected or recognized as being an important part of our earthly lives.

So, perhaps, it is good to be reminded about how our founding fathers thought, believed, lived, and spoke.

These are just a few of the many, many, many quotes from our founding fathers about God, the Bible, the Christian faith, and the importance of the religious foundation of our country.

Let’s remember to celebrate our dependence upon God with the same conviction. Let’s not be independent from Him. Let’s show our nation how beautiful God is—from our example of light and from a life well lived as a servant of the least.
